NHCC is now offering an Associate in Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing.

Suellen Rundquist, Dean of Liberal Arts, states, “The Creative Writing A.F.A. provides a multitude of creative writing genres for students who are intending to begin a career in a related field or planning to transfer into a baccalaureate program. It combines general education courses and foundational writing and literary courses.”

According to ISEEK, the employment outlook for writers in Minnesota is expected to increase by 7.7% by the year 2019, with wages above the statewide median. While some writers may be self-employed, companies will also be looking to hire creative and technical writers for websites, blogs, and other interactive media.
