Ways to Give

Consider the following types of gifts, which can benefit both you and the Foundation...

North Hennepin Community College Foundation is turning to individuals, corporations and foundations for help in maintaining the quality of student learning and making the dream of a college education affordable to all students.

  • Cash – Give online today or send in a check with a donor card.  Cash donations are tax deductible and available immediately.
  • Securities – A gift of stock, bonds, or mutual funds may result in a tax savings for you and can help support our mission.
  • Gift in kind – Donations of equipment and supplies are tax deductible and provide immediate benefit to our instructional programs or service areas.
  • Life insurance – By donating a policy you no longer need, you can take advantage of additional tax benefits and support the Foundation’s mission.
  • Bequests – A bequest in your will of any property, such as cash, real estate, securities, or other tangible property support our mission without changing the way you live today.
  • Honorary and memorial gifts – Remember a loved one through this option.
  • Matching gifts – Many companies match gifts to nonprofit organizations. Check with your employer to see if they will match your gift to the college.

With your gift you are providing...

  • Opportunities for students  – For whom college might only be a dream without scholarship support. Your gift to the college can help support a student who is starting out as the first in his or her family to go to college, or provide training to a worker who is laid off to transition their career.
  • Community – You’re supporting the “community’s college” - a positive force for the community and the workforce, both today and into the future.
  • Future donors  – You’re fostering an attitude of giving that will span generations. Philanthropy is an attitude.
  • Financial need  – Of the top five reasons students cite for dropping out of college, four are financial. This makes North Hennepin Community College Foundation’s work for building scholarships especially urgent.
